Stillman College has been awarded a $2,241,737 grant from the National Science Foundation (NSF) to support an innovative project aimed at strengthening STEM education, improving student success, and preparing graduates for high-demand careers.
Project Details
The five-year initiative, known as IMPACTS@SC-I, will introduce micro-credentialing opportunities, expand faculty-student research collaborations, strengthen industry partnerships, and enhance career readiness throughout the undergraduate experience. This project is designed to improve student retention and graduation rates while equipping graduates with the technical expertise and skills needed to thrive in the competitive workforce.
According to Dr. Eric Buckles, Interim Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs and the project’s Principal Investigator, this award reflects the college’s continued commitment to preparing students for success in the STEM workforce. The initiative aligns with Stillman College’s ASCEND 2025–2030 Strategic Plan, which emphasizes student success by integrating research opportunities, experiential learning, and career readiness through the STEM curriculum.
