The Pittsburgh Steelers are turning to a familiar face to beef up their linebacking corps. According to multiple reports, the team on Wednesday agreed to a one-year deal with Elandon Roberts, setting up a pair of reunions.
Roberts’ Background
The 32-year-old veteran returns to the team he played for in the 2023 and ’24 seasons, when he became a fan favorite as a hard-nosed run stopper. It also reunites Roberts with Steelers defensive coordinator Patrick Graham, who held the same position last season with Las Vegas, where Roberts played in 2025.
Roberts joins a group that includes standouts Patrick Queen and Payton Wilson. In his two seasons in Pittsburgh, Roberts started 29 of 33 games in which he played, compiling 147 tackles (92 solo), 15 tackles for loss and 3 1/2 sacks.
He had 90 tackles (42 solo) with six tackles for loss with the Raiders last season. Drafted out of Houston by New England in the sixth round of the 2016 draft, Roberts won a pair of Super Bowls in four seasons with the Patriots before spending three seasons with the Miami Dolphins.
In 157 career games (121 starts), Roberts has 694 tackles (396 solo) with 60 tackles for loss, 14 1/2 sacks, five forced fumbles, three fumble recoveries and 13 passes defensed.
