That was really big for our confidence,” Schiltz said during Wednesday practice at Standing Bear High School.

Senior quarterback Chase Loecker echoed the coach’s sentiment, emphasizing growth and relentless effort. “We’re just building on stuff and being really relentless with what we do each week,” Loecker said. Loecker also stressed the importance of resilience. “Every day we come to practice, work hard, and get stuff done. We want to prove we belong in Class A from the jump from Class B,” he said, adding that the team aims to silence doubters.

Following a Week 0 night game at Omaha Benson, the Grizzlies will enjoy a rare bye week. Schiltz described the break as a unique opportunity for the high school program. “It’s fun because we get a week and a half to work on things we need to improve and give the guys some rest,” he explained.
The team returns refreshed for the final four games of the season, beginning with a road matchup against the Mighty Bunnies on Friday night at 7 p.m.
