With Cincinnati facing extreme heat this week, St. Vincent de Paul is aiming to combat it by providing air conditioners to people in need. St. Vincent de Paul’s annual AC drive aims to distribute 1,200 units this summer and is asking for help from the community.
Helping Those in Need
“For seniors and people with chronic health conditions, this intense summer heat can be deadly,” said Brad McMonigle, CEO of SVDP. “For many of our neighbors, air conditioning is not about comfort. It is about health and safety. Through this drive, we can help make sure they have the protection they need.”
A donation of $125 can provide one air conditioner. More information on how to donate can be found through St. Vincent de Paul’s website. Already this season, SVDP has received more than 1,800 requests for air conditioners.
