The Penny Lane Beatles Museum will open in early August at 146 2nd Street N in downtown St. Petersburg, quadrupling its previous space in Dunedin.
A New Home for Beatles Fans
Dr. Robert Entel, a radiologist and Beatles collector, has been collecting memorabilia since the early 1970s. The museum will feature a wide range of items, including stage costumes, musical instruments, and signed photos.
The new location will have a children’s section and other special areas, and the nonprofit museum’s board has hired an executive director and a professional curator to create the display cases and showplaces.
Entel believes the museum will be a great addition to St. Petersburg’s cultural scene, and will attract visitors from all over the world. The museum is the only one of its kind in the United States, dedicated solely to the Beatles.
