As summer events demand fresh flowers, Petals in St. Matthews is meeting the need by partnering with local growers. The florist works with about three to four different local wholesale growers to build arrangements around what’s currently blooming.
Supporting Local Growers
According to owner Jeff Wallitsch, this time of year is wonderful for locally grown flowers. The busy season starts around Derby, but summer parties and holiday celebrations keep customers coming through the doors. Petals creates garden floral arrangements for parties, including those for the Fourth of July.
Petals is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, located at 3905 Chenoweth Square.
