The Springfield Symphony Orchestra has announced its 2026-27 season, titled ‘American Icons.’ The season will include performances of works by renowned American composers such as Leonard Bernstein, Aaron Copland, and George Gershwin, as well as a special multimedia experience featuring the music and life of Dolly Parton.
Season Highlights
The season will kick off on September 12 with ‘The Big Apple,’ a concert featuring music from New York by New Yorkers. Other highlights include ‘Dolly Parton’s Threads: My Songs in Symphony’ on October 10, ‘Route 66 — An American Road Trip’ on November 14, and ‘A Hollywood Christmas’ on December 19.
The symphony will also perform ‘Ravel — A Theatrical Concert’ on January 16, ‘An American Hymn’ on February 13, and ‘From the New World’ on March 6. The season will conclude with ‘Simply Swingin’ — Great American Crooners’ on April 10 and ‘Swan Lake’ with the St. Louis Ballet on May 1.
