Spokane Transit Authority Offers Special Routes for Hoopfest

As Spokane gears up for the annual Hoopfest, the world’s largest 3-on-3 basketball tournament, the Spokane Transit Authority (STA) is stepping in to facilitate transportation for the influx of visitors. This event, which draws thousands to downtown Spokane, can make parking and driving a challenge. To address this, STA is offering special routes to ensure smooth travel to and from the event.

City Line Service

The City Line service will provide free parking at Spokane Community College and in the University District, including select parking lots at WSU Spokane and Gonzaga. The drop-off point is at Stevens and 2nd, with boarding at Howard and 3rd. The service will run every 15 minutes on Saturday, June 27, from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m., and every 30 minutes from 11 p.m. to 1:15 a.m. On Sunday, June 28, it will operate from 6 a.m. to 5 p.m., and every 30 minutes from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m.

Jefferson Shuttle Service

The Jefferson Shuttle offers free parking at the Jefferson Lot. Directions for those coming from North Spokane involve heading south on Ash/Maple, turning left on 3rd, right on Jefferson, and following signs into the parking lot under the freeway. From South Spokane, drivers should head north on Walnut, turn right onto 3rd, then right onto Jefferson, and follow signs into the parking lot. The shuttle will drop off and board passengers at Stevens and 2nd, Post and 2nd, and Monroe and 2nd. It runs every 15 minutes on Saturday, June 27, from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m., and on Sunday, June 28, from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Both the City Line and Jefferson Shuttle services require a fee of $2. Additionally, the STA Plaza will be closed for the weekend starting Friday, June 26, at 6:30 p.m. Temporary bays will be set up at 2nd and Howard to accommodate the changes.
