Christopher Guyton, a survivor of the Spokane wildfires, shared his story of faith and resilience on “America Reports”. Despite losing his home and belongings to the alleged arson, Guyton expressed gratitude for the support of his church community and the joy he finds in his Christian faith.
Rebuilding and Sharing the Gospel
Guyton, an audio designer, lost his music studio and retro video game collection in the fire. However, he and his family, including his wife and two children, escaped unharmed. Guyton expressed his desire to spread the Gospel and share the love of Jesus Christ with others, especially those who may be struggling with the loss of their homes.
The Spokane wildfires burned over 10,000 acres and destroyed more than 700 structures. Aaron Farinacci, 37, was charged with first-degree arson in connection with the Old Trails Fire, the largest of the three Spokane blazes.
Guyton’s pastor has been a source of comfort and guidance, teaching him about the difference between joy and happiness. Guyton said, “Joy is something that you get from God, and when you have joy, you can still feel sadness, but there’s a lightness to that sadness.”
