Growing for Good Farm in Spencer is celebrating its first anniversary, making a significant impact by addressing food sovereignty, supporting local families, and educating future generations.
Community Impact
The farm began when Apollo Woods and a friend started growing mustard greens to give away to the community. They were able to harvest and donate over 2,700 pounds of food.
Beyond providing fresh food, the farm also strengthens the local economy by keeping money and tax base in Spencer.
The farm partners with Oklahoma City Public Schools to educate future generations. Students learn about farming and take home the food they help grow, addressing food insecurity in low-income communities.
Growing for Good Farm is seeking volunteers and donations to help expand its mission.
