Speculation Grows Over Joe Rogan as Anderson Cooper’s ’60 Minutes’ Successor

Anderson Cooper, a long-standing correspondent for CBS’s ’60 Minutes,’ has announced his departure from the program to spend more time with his young children. Cooper, who has been a fixture on the show since 2006, aired his final report on May 17, 2026. While he will continue his role as a full-time anchor at CNN, he expressed a desire to focus on family life, stating, ‘I want to spend as much time with them as possible, while they still want to spend time with me.’

Cooper’s exit has left a vacancy that has sparked widespread speculation about his potential successor. Among the names being discussed is Joe Rogan, the popular podcast host known for ‘The Joe Rogan Experience.’ Rogan’s podcast, which began in 2009, has become one of the most-listened-to globally, featuring a wide range of guests from various fields including politics, science, and sports.

Despite the speculation, CBS has not confirmed any discussions with Rogan or any other candidates. Reports from outlets like RadarOnline have fueled the rumors, but they remain unverified. Rogan, who also works as a UFC commentator and previously hosted ‘Fear Factor,’ has not publicly commented on the matter.

Cooper’s departure comes amid broader changes at ’60 Minutes,’ following the appointment of Bari Weiss as CBS News editor-in-chief. The program has experienced several personnel shifts, including the departure of longtime correspondent Scott Pelley.

As ’60 Minutes’ continues to be a flagship program for CBS since its premiere in 1968, the network’s decision on Cooper’s replacement will be closely watched. The show remains a significant platform for in-depth journalism and storytelling.
