A recent incident at a Southfield gun shop has led to charges against both the alleged thief and a store employee. The incident occurred on July 19th at Action Impact, where a man, identified as Marquis Massey, stole two guns from the store. The store’s clerk, 67-year-old Thomas Beck, chased after Massey and shots were fired outside the store.

Investigation and Charges

Initially, it was believed that Massey was the one who fired the shots, but police now say that was not the case. The incident was captured on camera, and police have recovered a semi-automatic handgun. However, a revolver is still missing. Massey is facing several weapons charges, and his bond has been set at $800,000.

Beck, the store clerk, is also facing charges, including tampering with evidence and lying to a police officer. According to investigators, Beck fired his gun at Massey and then tried to cover it up. Security video footage shows Beck exchanging his handgun with a different one from the store’s rental display and hiding the original gun before police arrived.
