Payne’s rise to fame began when Argentine soccer influencer Valen Scarsini encouraged his followers to support Payne, who had only 4,715 Instagram followers at the time. Payne’s following quickly grew to over 5.4 million, and he signed with Olimpia in June.
Payne scored a goal in his debut match with Olimpia, helping the team win 5-0. The signed jersey from that match is now being auctioned off, with proceeds going to a true Olimpia fan.
