They were able to land, get out, and get to shore unscathed.

Beachgoers reported hearing a loud bang and seeing the plane coming in with little speed before it crashed into the water. One man thought it was a boat that had capsized, but then he saw the plane. People in the area rushed to help, but the two individuals on the plane were already making their way to shore.
The Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office stated that dive teams found a possible fuel leak, which they are investigating. The cause of the emergency landing is not yet known.
