Vancouver’s Orchards district welcomed a new family‑focused entertainment venue on Thursday when the Greater Vancouver Chamber held a ribbon‑cutting ceremony for the official grand opening of Slick City Action Park. The indoor adventure center, the 51st Slick City location nationwide and the first in the Pacific Northwest, opened its doors two weeks ago with a soft opening and quickly attracted both children and adults eager for thrills.
Features designed for all ages
Spanning more than 35,000 square feet at 11505 NE Fourth Plain Blvd., Slick City boasts 14 distinct slides, several of which launch riders into the air before safely landing on air bags. The park also includes “sport air” courts for basketball dunking on a low rim, a dodgeball arena, and a junior jungle area tailored to younger thrill‑seekers. Each slide carries its own name—Mega Launch, Riptide, Avalanche, Zig Zag, Super Fly, among others—offering a variety of challenges for different skill levels.
Owner Jordan Wade, who moved to Vancouver from Utah after working at Sky Zone Trampoline Park, emphasized the venue’s all‑inclusive approach. “Creating activities and reasons for people to be together is a huge motivator for me,” Wade said. “An activity like Slick City gets everyone playing together, and that’s a really good thing.” He noted that the park encourages families to stay together rather than parents simply dropping off children. “We even have adults‑only nights because adults have so much fun doing it,” he added.
Economic and community impact
The park’s opening adds a new entertainment option for residents seeking indoor activities, especially during the region’s rainy months. “Half the year, at least, people are looking for great indoor options,” Wade explained. The venue is expected to generate jobs, support local suppliers, and draw visitors from surrounding communities, contributing to the local economy.
Wade’s team used a 3‑D scan of the building to maximize the use of space, ultimately fitting more than double the number of slides that a traditional layout would allow. “In a building this size, the old way would have only fit seven slides,” he said. “We have slides going over the top of other slides, under platforms and towers.”
Pricing and membership options
Ticket prices vary based on the amount of time guests wish to spend in the park, with memberships offering a lower cost per visit and encouraging repeat attendance. Slick City also provides birthday party packages and a private room for events, positioning itself as a go‑to destination for family celebrations and community gatherings.
“Having spent years in the family entertainment industry, we know families are looking for experiences that give them more reasons to come back,” Wade said. “The variety of slides and attractions creates something for different ages, interests, and levels of adventure, so no two visits have to feel the same.”
Looking ahead
Wade hinted at future expansion plans, stating, “We’re going to put as many slides in here as possible.” The park’s management intends to continue evaluating the space for additional attractions that align with community demand.
With its grand opening, Slick City Action Park adds a vibrant, family‑oriented venue to Vancouver’s growing list of local businesses, reinforcing the city’s reputation as a place where families can find safe, enjoyable activities year‑round.
