Six Flags Over Texas has announced a new opening date for its highly anticipated dive coaster, Tormenta: Rampaging Run. The 309-foot-tall coaster will now open on Thursday, July 9, 13 days after its originally scheduled opening.
Record-Breaking Coaster
Tormenta: Rampaging Run is the first-ever giga dive coaster, featuring a record height, speed, and length. The coaster will anchor a new section of the park’s Spain area called Rancho de la Tormenta, which is designed to resemble an old and secluded Spanish village.
The new coaster, built by Swiss coaster firm Bolliger & Mabillard, will be the 14th roller coaster at the Arlington, Texas park, replacing the defunct La Vibora, which closed in 2024. It’s the first brand-new coaster for Six Flags Over Texas since the Aquaman: Power Wave debuted in 2023.
