Six Flags Over Texas is set to unveil the world’s tallest dive coaster, Tormenta: Rampaging Run, on June 26. The 309-foot tall coaster will feature a 285-foot first drop at a 95-degree angle, reaching speeds of 87 mph.
Record-Breaking Coaster
Tormenta: Rampaging Run will be the 14th roller coaster at the Arlington, Texas park, replacing the defunct La Vibora. The new coaster is part of a new section of the park called Rancho de la Tormenta, themed as an old and secluded Spanish village.
Pete Carmichael, park president of Six Flags Over Texas, stated that the new coaster will ‘forever change not only the Arlington skyline, but the full lineup of thrills’ at the park. The coaster was built by Swiss coaster firm Bolliger & Mabillard.
