Hong Kong-listed drugmaker Sino Biopharmaceutical has expanded its alliance with British company GSK, securing rights to market two respiratory drugs in mainland China.
Details of the Agreement
Chia Tai Tianqing Pharmaceutical (CTTQ), a unit of Sino Biopharmaceutical, will commercialize GSK’s triple therapy inhaler Trelegy Ellipta and dual therapy inhaler Anoro Ellipta in mainland China. Anoro Ellipta is used for the maintenance treatment of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), while Trelegy Ellipta is approved for the maintenance treatment of both COPD and asthma.
The unit will be responsible for importing, distributing, and promoting the products in mainland China, with sales revenue expected to be recognized by CTTQ. This deal broadens the companies’ collaboration beyond liver disease and into respiratory treatments, following an agreement announced in May to support the launch of GSK’s hepatitis B drug candidate in mainland China.
