The Shreveport Police Department is helping local students prepare for the classroom through a community-focused backpack distribution. The department’s Community Oriented Policing Bureau hosted a backpack giveaway across all four Shreveport police substations.
Students entering first through sixth grades received free backpacks packed with essential school supplies while supplies lasted. Families lined up across the city as officers and volunteers distributed the materials.
