Shreveport, La. — The Shreveport Police Department announced Wednesday that a second suspect has been taken into custody in connection with a string of vehicle burglaries that targeted guests at two local hotels.
Arrests and charges
Property Crimes detectives identified Warren Dewaye Williams as a suspect alongside Johnathan Winslow. The investigations focused on two separate incidents that occurred on August 12. The first took place at the Holiday Inn Express on Interstate Drive, and the second at the Comfort Inn & Suites on Healthplex Drive.
After reviewing surveillance footage and conducting follow‑up interviews, detectives secured additional arrest affidavits. Williams now faces 18 counts of simple burglary and two counts of theft of a firearm. The firearm charges stem from a handgun reported missing from one of the stolen vehicles.
Ongoing investigation
Police said the investigation remains active, and additional charges could be filed as more evidence is gathered. Detectives are urging anyone who may have witnessed suspicious activity around the hotels on August 12 to contact the Shreveport Police Department.
Both hotels have increased security measures in response to the incidents, including additional lighting in parking areas and more frequent patrols by private security staff. Hotel management has also reminded guests to lock their vehicles and keep valuables out of sight.

Local residents expressed concern over the safety of hotel parking lots, a common gathering place for families and travelers. “We want to feel safe when we park our cars at these hotels,” said Maria Gonzales, a Shreveport resident who frequently stays at the Holiday Inn Express for work trips. “It’s reassuring to see police taking swift action.”
