A Shreveport man has been found guilty of second-degree murder. Koryeon M. Vance, 21, was convicted of killing Malik Henderson, 27, during a drug deal in the Hollywood Heights neighborhood.
Investigation and Trial
The investigation showed that Vance and Henderson had been communicating for months about the purchase of marijuana. Vance was prosecuted by Assistant District Attorneys Victoria Washington and Courtney N. Ray. He was defended by Leslie Kelly.
The six-man, six-woman jury considered cell phone data that placed Vance at the scene and contained videos of him with marijuana and firearms after the slaying. They also heard witness statements that he had shot Henderson.
Henderson’s body was found by police cold and lifeless in a car near the 4800 block of McDaniel Drive. He had been shot once in the head.
Vance faces a mandatory life in prison term when he returns to court for sentencing on July 1.
