Shooting in Hudson Neighborhood

A Wednesday night break-in turned violent in a Hudson neighborhood, leaving one man hospitalized in critical condition after a physical fight ended in gunfire.

The Pasco Sheriff’s Office reported that deputies responded to the Castleberry Court area around 8:11 p.m. after receiving calls about a shooting. According to preliminary details from investigators, the incident began when a suspect attempted a residential burglary. A physical altercation quickly broke out between the suspect and a resident, and the suspect shot an adult man.

Moments later, a second adult man on the scene stepped in and engaged the suspect. Authorities note that another gunshot went off during this second struggle. Fortunately, the second man managed to escape the encounter without any injuries.

The victim who suffered the gunshot wound was rushed to a local hospital, where medical staff listed him in critical condition.

The suspect managed to flee the area before law enforcement could arrive on the scene. While deputies initially searched the surrounding neighborhood, the sheriff’s office later issued an update stating that all parties involved in the incident are now accounted for.

Detectives are treating this as an isolated incident between individuals who knew each other. The Pasco Sheriff’s Office stated there is no ongoing threat to public safety, though the investigation remains active and ongoing.
