Shooting at Idaho In-N-Out Burger

A shooting at an In-N-Out Burger restaurant in Twin Falls, Idaho, on Saturday afternoon left multiple people dead and others injured, police said. The shooter was among the dead, according to Twin Falls Police Chief Matthew Hicks.

Witnesses described a chaotic scene, with people running and screaming. Lane Koehn, 34, said he saw a person with an AR-style rifle emerge from the drive-thru and a man with a pistol start firing at the shooter. Koehn and the man with the pistol stayed with an injured employee until paramedics arrived.

Investigation Ongoing

Police are still trying to determine the shooter’s identity and motive. The In-N-Out Burger restaurant had opened just a week earlier, on July 24, as part of the company’s expansion to Idaho. Multiple agencies responded to the shooting, and police advised people to avoid the area.

Twin Falls resident Haley Dodaro, 43, and her mother were waiting in the drive-thru line when they saw people running across the road and workers bolting out of the restaurant. Dodaro thought there might have been a fire, but then a man directing traffic said there was a shooter.

Nayeli Rodriguez, 40, of Burley, was inside waiting for food with her daughters when she heard shots from the kitchen. An employee told people to get down, and an older man tried to protect Rodriguez and her daughters as they ran outside.
