A Sheridan man was sentenced to prison for violating his probation. Zachariah Nelson, 40, was originally sentenced to 3 to 5 years in prison for two felony drug charges, but the prison time was suspended in favor of a split sentence of 223 days in jail to be followed by three years of supervised probation.
However, on June 29th of this year, Sheridan County Attorney Diana Bennett filed a petition to revoke Nelson’s probation for allegedly using methamphetamine on June 22nd. Nelson admitted to violating his probation by using methamphetamine in June, and District Court Judge Darcy Phillips imposed the underlying sentence of three to five years in prison.
