Sheridan College rodeo athletes traveled to Lamar, Colorado, this past weekend for the 2026 Lamar Community College rodeo meet. Both the men’s and women’s teams preserved their regional standings, keeping the men in third place overall and the women in sixth place.
Men’s Team Results
In the saddle bronc long go, Chris Nelson posted a fourth‑place ride worth 78 points, followed closely by Jake Schlattmann (5th, 77 points), Bleu Wanner (6th, 77 points), Taiten Eaton (7th, 76 points) and Jack Chase (9th, 73.5 points). The short go saw Nelson drop to fifth with a 77‑point ride, while Chase placed seventh, also at 77 points. Eaton finished eighth with 76 points; Schlattmann and Wanner fell to ninth and tenth after no rides.
Overall averages placed Nelson fourth with 155 points, Eaton seventh with 152 points, Chase eighth with 150.5 points, and both Schlattmann and Wanner tied for ninth and tenth with 77 points each.
In tie‑down roping, Wiley Dempewolf earned seventh in the long go with a 17‑second run, and Bridger Peil was eighth at 17.4 seconds. Both missed times in the short go, landing ninth and tenth, while their averages remained steady at 117 and 117.4 seconds respectively.
Women’s Team Results
Faith Heim posted a tenth‑place long go with an 18.84‑second run, then improved to fourth in the short go (18.17 seconds) and finished fifth overall with a 37.01‑second average.
In goat tying, Kaeley Hutchinson took fifth in the long go (8.5 seconds) and dropped to ninth in the short go (11.6 seconds). Ramey Schack placed eighth in the long go (8.8 seconds) and rose to sixth in the short go (9.9 seconds). Their averages landed Schack seventh (18.7 seconds) and Hutchinson ninth (20.1 seconds).
Breakaway roper RyLee Price captured first place in the long go with a swift 2.7‑second run. She fell to sixth in the short go (12.5 seconds) and finished sixth overall with a 15.2‑second average.
Looking Ahead
The Generals will next compete at Laramie County Community College from October 9‑11, aiming to improve their standings further in the Central Rocky Mountain Region.
