The City of Sheridan recently approved a proposal to perform an automated pavement condition assessment and comprehensive inventory of assets. The City Council authorized Public Works Director Hans Mercer to negotiate and execute a professional services contract with MDS Technologies for the assessment, which will not exceed $100,000.
Pavement Condition Assessment
The City’s last pavement condition assessment was completed in 2019. According to City Engineer Thomas Murnau, a new assessment is necessary to provide current and accurate infrastructure data to support maintenance planning, rehabilitation programming, and long-term capital improvement planning. The assessment will help identify potential issues and areas of concern, and will be integrated into the city’s enterprise asset management software system, Cartograph.
