The City of Sheridan is giving residents an opportunity to learn about the day-to-day operations of the municipality. The inaugural Citizen Academy will be led by City staff and will offer participants the opportunity to tour facilities, experience City operations firsthand, and learn more about how to get involved in their local government and community.
Citizen Academy Details
Sheridan Mayor Rich Bridger says the City is encouraging individuals from all backgrounds and professions to apply, including retirees, tradespeople, business owners, students, and administrative professionals. The Citizen Academy will cover various aspects of city operations, including administrative tasks, police and fire departments, water and sewer services, and more.
The Citizen Academy will meet each Wednesday at 5:30 p.m. from August 12th through September 30th, and session length will vary from two to three hours. Participants must be at least 18 years of age to take part in the Academy. The application period to be one of the 20 participants closes on July 15th.
