Republican Sen. Mitch McConnell of Kentucky announced on Sunday that he was hospitalized last month due to a fall. According to his statement, his doctors confirmed that he did not break any bones or suffer a concussion. He also did not have a heart attack or a stroke, and does not have any tumors or hemorrhages. However, he was briefly unconscious and was taken to the hospital. While receiving care, he also had to deal with a mild case of pneumonia.
McConnell said he has moved from a hospital to a rehabilitation center to continue regaining his strength. The former Senate majority leader stated that he won’t be able to return to the Senate floor to vote quite yet, but he’s been working closely with legislative staff in the meantime.
