Seattle Hosts World Cup

The 2026 FIFA World Cup has finally made it to Seattle, and the city is shining bright. The first game in the Emerald City saw Egypt take on Belgium, with the energy around and inside the stadium electric despite the heat.

Fans from all over flocked to the temporarily renamed Seattle Stadium to watch the game, with many donning Belgian and Egyptian jerseys. The excitement was palpable as fans awaited the performance of Liverpool legend Mo Salah and Kevin de Bruyne.

The game ended in a 1-1 draw, with Egypt scoring first in the 20th minute and Belgium leveling the game in the second half. The total attendance for the first game at Seattle Stadium was 66,775, a number that is likely to be breached when the US Men’s National Team takes on Australia on June 19.

Tickets for that game will be the most expensive of the group stage games at Seattle Stadium, with the get-in price currently over $2,000. However, free watch parties will be held throughout the tournament, including in Pioneer Square and at Pier 62.
