For over a decade, Science Kids and the Sheridan Community Land Trust have partnered to provide a free, public outdoor education program that focuses on hands-on science learning and connecting people to local nature spaces.

Unplug Program

Science Kids Executive Director Julie Rieder talks about Unplug, the creative outdoor education program. The concept is to get away from screens, get outside and learn with the kind of umbrella concept all under the sciences.

So often Science Kids is content lead or we’re bringing in partnerships or collaborations. But the beauty is that Science Kids has a certain following of people that enjoy what we do. The Land Trust has a certain following of people that love what they do. So, there’s a lot of overlap, but when we offer these events to the public free of charge, it brings in a lot of different people that then get to experience both organizations and learn from us and see what we have to offer.
