Areas of Louisiana that saw physical damage from Tropical Storm Arthur in June have been given more time to apply for assistance from the Small Business Administration, the agency announced Tuesday.
Eligible Parishes
Physical disaster loans from the SBA are only available to damaged businesses in Avoyelles, Lafourche, Pointe Coupee, St. Landry, St. Tammany and Terrebonne parishes. Economic injury disaster loans are available to business owners in Acadia, Assumption, Catahoula, Concordia, Evangeline, Iberville, Jefferson, Lafayette, LaSalle, Orleans, Rapides, St. Bernard, St. Charles, St James, St. John the Baptist, St. Martin, St. Mary, Tangipahoa, Washington, West Baton Rouge and West Feliciana parishes. Hancock and Pearl River counties in Mississippi are also eligible.
The deadline for applications is now Oct. 1. Loan applicants must have a credit history acceptable to the SBA and demonstrate the ability to repay their loans.
