The meeting marks the beginning of a four-year partnership under a newly adopted Joint Resolution that establishes a formal framework for collaboration through 2029. City and county leaders say the initiative is designed to tackle issues that affect residents across jurisdictional lines through coordinated planning and measurable action.
Among the priorities identified in the resolution are affordable housing, homelessness, behavioral health, public safety, wildfire preparedness, water resilience, transportation, senior services, parks and open space, and long-term regional planning.
Unlike previous joint meetings, which largely centered on discussion and information sharing, the session is expected to focus on action. City councilors and county commissioners will identify shared priorities, assign responsibilities, establish timelines and develop measurable goals that residents can track over time.
