The Santa Barbara Planning Commission has approved a residential development proposal for 1 Hot Springs Road. The project, which includes 22 units within seven individual two and three-story buildings, along with 50 parking spaces, will be built on a 2.4 acre triangular parcel of land.
Project Details
The land, which is located off Channel Drive, is hemmed in by Highway 101 to the north, the Santa Barbara Cemetery to the south, and the Andrée Clark Bird Refuge to the west. The tip of the triangular parcel features a historic fountain overlooking the roundabout, across from The Post Montecito, which will be restored and made available for public use.
City officials have expressed excitement about the project, which will provide additional housing options in the area.
