The Santa Barbara Foresters are heading to the championship game after a 7-0 shutout win over the Junction City Brigade in the semifinals.
Foresters Pitchers Shine
Tanner Grove and Jack Fowler combined for the shutout, with Grove working five innings of 2-hit scoreless ball and striking out 7. Fowler pitched the final four shutout innings, allowing just one hit with 6 strikeouts.
The Foresters had just two hits until the final inning, when they erupted for five runs to seal the deal. Easton Moomau delivered an RBI single, Brady Janusek bunted in a run on a safety squeeze, pinch-hitter Kurt Ippolito laced a 2-run double, and Carter Rutenbar capped the scoring with a run-scoring single.
The Foresters will face the Alaska Goldpanners in the championship game on Saturday at 5 p.m. Pacific time.
