San Juan Regional Medical Center in Farmington is calling on community members to participate in a crucial blood drive scheduled for Monday, June 8, and Tuesday, June 9. This event is part of an ongoing effort to meet the persistent demand for blood donations in the area.
Event Details
The Vitalant Bloodmobile will be stationed in the hospital’s main parking lot, ready to welcome donors. While appointments are preferred to streamline the process, walk-ins are also welcome. The blood drive will run from 12:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Monday and from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
Donation Requirements
Potential donors must be at least 18 years old and weigh a minimum of 110 pounds. Both standard whole blood and Power Red donations will be accepted. Health officials emphasize that a single donation can potentially save up to three lives, underscoring the importance of community participation.
How to Register
Those interested in donating are encouraged to visit Vitalant’s blood drive webpage to select an available time slot. The goal for this drive is to collect between 58 and 60 pints of blood, which will significantly aid in addressing the current needs.
