Conley’s Journey
Conley’s computer is controlled by his eyes, using infrared light. He looks at a letter on the screen for two seconds, and the computer types it for him. Although this system has its limitations, such as not working well in bright rooms or full sun, Conley has learned to adapt and even joke about his situation, comparing himself to a vampire trying to communicate.
Conley’s determination and feisty personality have enabled him to overcome the challenges posed by his condition. His book is a testament to his resilience and a source of inspiration for others. When asked about his motivation for writing the book, Conley cited the American dream, and his message to others with cerebral palsy or similar disabilities is to “keep on fighting.”
