Mayor Jones has reached out to businesses, foundations, and philanthropists to consider funding 15 local nonprofits for three years, with the goal of matching or exceeding the $6.5 million the city contributed to these organizations in 2026.
The City Council must finalize the 2027 budget within the next two months, and the mayor is asking recipients of the letter to pledge financial support starting October 1.
