The Saint Paul Commercial Corridor Program is spotlighting businesses on University Avenue through the Hidden Gems on University Avenue campaign. The campaign includes window clings, yard signs, billboards, and digital content highlighting participating businesses.
Exploring the Corridor
A day spent exploring the corridor revealed a diverse range of businesses, from The Best Steak House to Brick By Brick, a business created by young entrepreneurs selling collectibles and artwork from local Minnesota artists.
Other notable stops included Flava Coffee, Trung Nam French Bakery, and ZAO Bakery + Cafe, where the owner shared the story of her family business and her children stepping into leadership roles.
The Little Mekong Cultural District, which spans University Avenue between Mackubin Street and Marion Street, is home to a wide range of Asian-owned businesses, restaurants, and cultural spaces, including XIA Books & Cafe and Peking Garden.
The Hidden Gems on University Avenue campaign invites the community to experience the area with curiosity and a willingness to explore. A directory of participating businesses can be found at www.ndc-mn.org/gems.
