The South Carolina Legislature has passed the Small Business Regulatory Freedom Act, a bill that would strengthen oversight of state regulations and give lawmakers a greater role in approving regulations with significant economic impacts.
Ben Homeyer, NFIB State Director, thanked lawmakers for passing the bill, stating that small business owners spend too much time and money complying with outdated, unnecessary, or overly complicated regulations.
The bill, H. 3021, is a big step toward making state government more accountable by reviewing rules and regulations and considering their impact on Main Street businesses.
