Russia Claims Capture of Two Villages in Ukraine

Russia’s Defence Ministry reported that Russian forces have seized control of the villages of Vasyutinske and Toretsk in Ukraine’s eastern Donetsk region.

Ukrainian Response

Ukrainian forces have not acknowledged the loss of the two villages, and Reuters was unable to verify the reports independently.

The Ukrainian war blog DeepState reported that Russian forces had made advances near Illinivka and Chasiv Yar, but the Ukrainian military’s General Staff said that Kyiv’s forces had repelled 24 attacks around Kostiantynivka and other areas.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy praised Ukrainian forces fighting in specific areas, including Dobropillia, Kostiantynivka, and Kramatorsk, in his nightly video address.
