A Flood Watch has been issued for the Ruidoso area due to the threat of heavy rain from monsoon storms. Skies will be ripe for storms again on Saturday afternoon before activity decreases on Sunday.
Storm Chances
Today will produce more storms than yesterday, with a more active afternoon and evening. The threat of heavy rain is significant, especially for the western and southern parts of the state, including Ruidoso.
Saturday looks to be another active day around the state, with storm chances in play for just about everybody. The highest potential for heavy rainfall and flooding will still be over the western and southern parts of the state, including Ruidoso.
A drying and warming trend is expected to come next week, but it may play out in a slow process. Monday and Tuesday will still see chances of storms for much of Central and Western New Mexico, but it will likely be dry across the east.
