Round Rock ISD Place 3 Board Candidates Share Priorities Ahead of Nov. 3 Election

Round Rock parents and community members have a clear choice this November for the Round Rock Independent School District (RRISD) Place 3 board of trustees. Incumbent Amber Feller Landrum will be joined by three challengers—Ayaan Moledina, Vera Southwell and Gregory Andrew—on the Nov. 3 ballot.

Why the Place 3 seat matters

The Place 3 trustee helps set policy for the district’s 30,000‑plus students, oversees budget decisions that affect classroom resources, and supports the district’s mission to provide a strong, values‑based education. Voters who care about academic excellence, fiscal responsibility, and a safe learning environment are encouraged to review each candidate’s brief statements.

Candidate statements (50 words or fewer)

Amber Feller Landrum (Incumbent)
“I will continue to prioritize strong academic outcomes, transparent budgeting, and safe schools. My focus is on expanding career‑technical programs and ensuring every child receives a high‑quality education rooted in our community’s values.”

Ayaan Moledina
“My goal is to strengthen parental involvement, protect local control of curriculum, and promote fiscal stewardship. I believe in empowering teachers while keeping taxes low for families.”

Vera Southwell
“I am committed to improving student achievement, expanding extracurricular opportunities, and preserving the district’s commitment to character education. I will work to keep our schools safe and financially sound.”

Gregory Andrew
“I will focus on transparency, accountability, and ensuring that every student has access to rigorous academics and strong moral foundations. My priority is to keep our schools safe and fiscally responsible.”

How to vote

Early voting for the RRISD board elections begins on Oct. 19 and runs through Oct. 30. Voters can cast their ballots at any designated early‑voting site in Williamson County. Election Day voting takes place on Nov. 3 at the usual precinct locations. All registered voters in Round Rock are eligible to vote for the Place 3 seat.

What to expect on Election Day

Round Rock’s municipal election office will open polling places at the usual hours, and voters will receive a ballot that lists the four candidates for Place 3. The race is nonpartisan, meaning candidates do not run under a party label, but each candidate’s statement reflects their personal priorities for the district.

Community impact

The outcome of this race will shape the direction of RRISD’s policies for the next four years. Parents who value strong academic standards, responsible budgeting, and a safe school environment are urged to read each candidate’s brief Q&A and make an informed choice at the ballot box.
