Rory McIlroy has committed to participate in the FedExCup Playoffs opener at the FedEx St. Jude Championship in Memphis, the PGA Tour announced Friday.
McIlroy, 37, will make just his 12th start of the season in the 70-golfer field in Memphis. He will join World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler, defending FedExCup champion Tommy Fleetwood, and defending FedEx St. Jude Championship winner Justin Rose, among others, in the event.
McIlroy has not played since The Open Championship last month and will vie for his fourth FedExCup title. He is currently in 12th position in the FedExCup standings with his lone victory occurring at The Masters in April.
