According to the Kentucky Registry of Election Finance, Adkins’ name is now listed alongside other candidates, including current Lt. Gov. Jacqueline Coleman, who announced her candidacy in April. The primary election is set for May 18, 2027.
Adkins is expected to make a formal announcement on Tuesday during an event at the Burl in Lexington. His entry into the race adds to the growing list of candidates vying for the governor’s seat.
