Rockwall County, Texas, recently hosted the Rockwall Ready Open House at the Rockwall County Courthouse Annex. The event aimed to build a more prepared and resilient community through teamwork and collaboration among community organizations and the Rockwall County Office of Emergency Management (RCOEM).

Community Partnerships

The open house welcomed residents to meet representatives from various organizations serving Rockwall County and learn about available resources during emergencies. Participating community partners included the Rockwall County Office of Emergency Management, ToolBank USA, Rockwall Amateur Radio Club, and The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

The event also served as a hands-on emergency preparedness exercise, demonstrating how RCOEM works with local agencies, nonprofits, faith-based organizations, and volunteers to support the community during times of crisis. A Multi-Agency Resource Center (MARC) was set up to act as a one-stop shop for residents affected by disasters, providing information about available community resources to aid in their recovery.

Through Rockwall Ready, participating organizations can strengthen relationships and communication before disaster strikes, ensuring resources can be coordinated more efficiently when the community needs them most.
