Albuquerque Fire Rescue (AFR) crews responded to a flood channel rescue in the Four Hills area, known as ‘The Box’, which flows into the Tijeras Arroyo. One individual was rescued from the arroyo below Rachel Rd using a ground ladder and was evaluated by Albuquerque ambulance on scene, but refused transport.
Crews continued to search the Tijeras arroyo for a second individual and found a deceased person, whose body was recovered from the water. The Office of the Medical Investigator (OMI) has taken over the incident.
