The Cincinnati Reds have placed starting pitcher Nick Lodolo on the 15-day injured list due to a blister on his left index finger. This move comes after Lodolo exited Saturday’s game against the Chicago Cubs with the injury.

Lodolo’s History with Finger Blisters

Lodolo has struggled with finger blisters in the past, including in 2024 and 2025. The 28-year-old left-hander is looking for ways to prevent these blisters, considering changing the grip on his breaking ball. Reds manager Terry Francona is working with Lodolo to find a solution, emphasizing the need to think through any changes carefully to avoid further injury.

In a corresponding move, the Reds recalled rookie right-hander Chase Petty from Triple-A Louisville. Petty, 23, has a 4.38 ERA in 24 2/3 innings for Cincinnati this season.
