Reds Fans Encouraged to Vote for All-Star Players as Ballot Opens

The Major League Baseball All-Star ballot is officially open, inviting fans to cast their votes for the top players who will compete in this year’s All-Star Game in Philadelphia on July 14. For Cincinnati Reds fans, this is an opportunity to support their local heroes who have been delivering impressive performances this season.

How to Vote

The voting process is divided into two phases. The first phase runs from June 3 to June 25, during which fans can vote up to five times per day per email address. In this phase, fans will select one player per infield position and three outfielders from both the American and National Leagues. The top two vote-getters at each infield position and the top six outfielders will advance to the second phase of voting, which will take place from June 29 to July 2. During this phase, fans will determine the starters for each league.

The pitchers and reserves for the American and National League teams will be chosen through a combination of player ballots and selections by the commissioner’s office. Fans can view the ballot and cast their votes online.

Reds Players to Watch

Several Cincinnati Reds players are having standout seasons and are worthy of consideration for the All-Star team. Shortstop Elly De La Cruz, despite a recent hamstring injury, has been a key player with a batting average of .280, 12 home runs, and 10 stolen bases. First baseman Sal Stewart, a strong contender for the National League Rookie of the Year, also boasts 12 home runs and a .258 batting average.

Outfielder JJ Bleday recently earned the National League’s Player of the Month award for May, thanks to his .301 batting average, eight home runs, and 15 walks over 27 games. On the pitching side, starting pitcher Chase Burns ranks second among National League pitchers in WAR (3.2), fourth in ERA (2.05), and fourth in strikeouts (81).

With such talent on display, Reds fans have plenty of reasons to participate in the voting process and support their team. The All-Star Game not only highlights individual achievements but also brings communities together to celebrate the sport.
