Red Flag Warning Issued for Central Oregon

A Red Flag Warning has been issued for Central Oregon, effective today, Saturday, August 1st. The National Weather Service has placed a ‘PDS’ tag on this warning, indicating a Particularly Dangerous Situation due to the several wildfires already burning in the area.

Winds will be generally from the west or northwest at 15 to 25 mph, with gusts near 35 mph at times. Humidity levels will be low, and fuels are dry due to the extreme drought category. Highs today will be in the middle 80s, with temperatures expected to cool down by Sunday.
