Raleigh Man Accused Of Kidnapping

A man is due in court on Wednesday after being accused of kidnapping and holding a woman and three kids hostage late Tuesday night in an East Raleigh neighborhood.

Incident Details

The incident occurred on Pin Oak Road, just off of New Hope Road. Police surrounded the home and took the man into custody around 2:30 a.m.

According to Wake County court documents, Don Von Leer Ekric Privette is facing multiple charges, including four counts of kidnapping, interfering with emergency communications, making threats, and multiple assault counts.

Arrest warrants stated that Privette pinned a woman against a counter, hit her in the face, and pointed a shotgun at her. He also took the woman’s phone away from her while she tried to call 911 and threatened to shoot her.
